A Real Estate Development and Construction Executive with 30 years of experience in acquisition, entitlement, design and construction of industrial, hospitality, commercial, retail and residential properties in the U.S., Middle East, North Africa, Eastern Europe, and Asia. Stephen has started scalable and efficient companies in diverse markets introducing new product types, innovating new development and design techniques, and successfully executed numerous multi-million dollar, complex, development and construction projects. Stephen honed his skill set at Nexus Development, Hines Development, Rem Koolhaas/OMA and Turner before establishing REAL in 2014.

Jim’s project experience includes:

Commercial: House of Honda, Pitney Bowes Management, Studio Veneto, Liaghat Office Building, Direct TV, Orange Julius, Suisse Chalet Hotels (built 4 total)

Jim also has residential project experience in a number of new single family and new multi-family construction projects.

Jim has been a California licensed General Contractor since 1980 (License No. 604279) and has over 40 years’ experience in commercial and residential construction.

Since 1986, Jim has been the president of Wildwood Development Corporation in San Diego. Wildwood Development Corporation has built multi-million dollar projects including multi-family buildings, single family homes, remodels and reconstruction, tenant improvement, fire and flood restoration, and high-end residential, commercial and mixed use buildings.

Jim is also an expert in all aspects of wood framed buildings, and has long been recognized for his special expertise in difficult terrain and hillside sites. Jim has served as an expert witness in various construction litigation disputes from 1998 through the present.

Jim’s projects have been featured in the following magazines: Fine Homebuilding, Ranch and Coast, Dream Homes, and South Coast Style.

Scott’s project experience includes:

Vespera Resort, The Morrison, Belltown Square, Wire Mountain I & II Family Housing, Gaslamp Square, La Cascade, Huntington Center II, Sunrise Harbor, Courvoisier Courts, Coulter Technologies, Dade County Aviation Department Cargo Buildings, Ritz-Carlton Resort.

As part of REAL’s construction company, Spyder Builders, Scott manages all aspects of Preconstruction from estimating and value engineering to bidding, bid analysis, and final project buy-out/purchasing.

Scott has over 30 years of experience in general contracting working for both general contractors and developer builders on a range of product types including government, hospitality, commercial and residential. Scott’s background is diverse and well rounded having held positions at every level of the construction process. In the field Scott worked as a field engineer, project engineer, assistant superintendent, area superintendent, superintendent, project manager, senior project manager and Owner’s representative. In the office Scott worked as a cost engineer, scheduling engineer, assistant estimator, estimator, facilities planner and preconstruction manager.

Robert’s project experience includes:

Robert, in close conjunction with REAL’s managing partners, specializes the identification and underwriting of opportunistic projects, and entitlement, design, and budget management of pre-construction.

Robert has more than a decade of development and construction experience. Most recently, as a Director at Construction, Management & Development, Inc. (CM&D), Robert was responsible for representing the firm’s capital market clients on large-scale commercial projects across the greater US market. Additionally, Robert was charged to manage the department’s staff and operations.

Prior to CM&D, Robert worked as both Developer and Contractor within his family’s business. His responsibilities ranged from entitlements, design management, budget management, procurement, and field operations management.
